The yellow adaptive steering system warning indicator is always on

Possible Source Action
  • Adaptive steering system failure
  • Lost communication with the IPC
  • An airbag deployment or fuel cutoff event has occurred
  • RETRIEVE all SECM DTCs and GO to the DTC Chart: Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) in appropriate Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes.
  • If there are no DTCs present in the SECM, DIAGNOSE the red adaptive steering system warning indicator. REFER to: DTC Chart: Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) in appropriate Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes.
