Selector Lever Cable: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. If equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost, remove the RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
  3. If equipped with a 3.7L Duratec, remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to: Upper Intake Manifold 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS) .
  4. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the transmission manual lever.

  5. Remove the selector lever cable retaining clip bolt.

  6. Release the tab and detach the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket.

  7. Remove the selector lever cable nut.

  8. Detach the selector lever cable retainer.

  9. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  10. Detach the selector lever cable from the TRCM lever.

  11. Remove the selector lever cable retaining clip bolt.

  12. Release the tab and detach the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket.

  13. Remove the selector lever cable.
