Pinpoint Test O : Traction Control System Cannot Be Disabled
- O1 CHECK FOR IPC DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self-Test - IPC.
Is DTC U0121:00 retrieved from the IPC ?
Yes REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes . No GO to O2. - O2 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER TRACTION CNTRL SELECTION
- Using the message center button, navigate to the SETTINGS menu, then the DRIVER ASSIST menu and view the TRACTION CNTRL setting.
- Configure the traction control on and then off again.
Does the TRACTION CNTRL selection change when configured to on and off?
Yes GO to O3. No REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes to diagnose message center does not operate correctly. - O3 CHECK THE STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR (SLIDING CAR ICON) OFF LIGHT
- Ignition ON.
- Using the message center button, navigate to the SETTINGS menu, then the DRIVER ASSIST menu and view the TRACTION CNTRL setting.
- Configure the traction control on and then off again.
Does the stability/traction control indicator (sliding car icon) OFF indicator illuminate when the traction control is turned off?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. TEST the system for normal operation. No REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes to diagnose the stability/traction control disabled indicator does not operate correctly.
