Pinpoint Test G: The One-Touch Up/Down Feature Is Inoperative
- G1 CHECK FOR POWER (B+) LOSS DURING WINDOW OPERATION
Verify if power (B+) was lost during window operation.
Was power (B+) lost while the window was in operation?
- Yes : RAISE the suspect window to the fully closed position. VERIFY the window glass stalls into the upper header seal for 2 seconds and release the switch. LOWER the suspect window to the fully open position. VERIFY the window glass stalls at bottom of travel for 2 seconds and release the switch. The window should function normally.
- No
: For LH front window, GO to G2
.
For all other windows, GO to G4.
- G2 DE-INITIALIZE, THEN INITIALIZE THE WINDOW MOTOR
De-initialize the window motor, then carry out the window motor initialization procedure. Refer to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION .
Is the one-touch up/down feature operating correctly?
- Yes : The system is operating normally at this time. The window motor lost initialization.
- No : GO to G3 .
- G3 CHECK THE VOLTAGE SIGNAL FROM THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
Ignition OFF.
Disconnect: LH Front Window Motor C524.
Ignition ON.
NOTE: Voltage should be present on both circuits in each of the tested switch positions. While pressing and releasing the master window control switch, measure the voltage between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C524-4 CPW11 (BU/GY) - Ground C524-5 CPW10 (YE/VT) - Ground Are the voltages greater than 11 volts when the window control switch is fully pressed in UP and DOWN positions?
- Yes : INSTALL a new LH front window regulator motor. REFER to WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR - FRONT DOOR . INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION .
- No : INSTALL a new master window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH .
- G4 DE-INITIALIZE, THEN INITIALIZE THE SUSPECT WINDOW MOTOR
De-initialize the suspect window motor, then carry out the window motor initialization procedure. Refer to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION .
Verify the suspect window operation from the master window control switch and also the suspect door window control switch.
Does the one-touch up/down feature operate correctly from both the master window control switch and the suspect door window control switch?
- Yes : The system is operating normally at this time. The window motor lost initialization.
- No
: If the one-touch up/down feature is inoperative from only one switch, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH .
If the one-touch up/down feature is inoperative from both switches, INSTALL a new window regulator motor. REFER to WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR - FRONT DOOR . INITIALIZE the RH front window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION .
