Selector Lever Cable: 6F35: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .

  4. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.

  5. Release the 2 tabs, remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket and position the cable aside.

  6. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  7. NOTE: Slide the locking tab upwards to unlock the electrical connector.

  8. Disconnect the TCM electrical connector.
  9. Disconnect the 3 battery cable pin-type retainers from the TCM bracket.

  10. Remove the TCM bracket nut, TCM and bracket.

  11. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.

  12. Release the 2 tabs, remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket and position the cable aside.

    All vehicles 

  13. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  14. Remove the 2 nuts from the grommet, route the selector lever cable from the engine compartment through the floor and remove the selector lever cable from the passenger compartment.
