Selector Lever Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the selector lever bezel. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER BEZEL .
  2. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the selector lever.

  3. Depress the 2 tabs and remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever.

  4. Move the left front seat to the furthest back position.
  5. NOTE: Failure to use a suitable piece of cardboard between the LH center console lower trim panel and the center console can result in damage to the side of the center console.
  6. Remove the LH center console lower trim panel.
    1. Pull the LH center console lower trim panel away from the center console to release the retaining clips.
    2. Position a suitable piece of cardboard or equivalent between the LH center console lower trim panel and the center console to prevent the trim panel retainers from scratching the center console.
    3. Slide the LH center console lower trim panel forward to release the front retainer.

  7. Pull the carpet back away from the floor and center console far enough to access the selector lever cable grommet nuts and the retainer.

  8. NOTE: Note the routing of the selector lever cable under the heater housing for assembly.

  9. Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer from the floor and route the cable out from under the heater housing.
  10. Remove the selector lever cable grommet nuts.

  11. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) and outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  12. Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer from the brake tube bracket.

  13. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.

  14. Depress the 2 tabs, remove the selector lever cable from the bracket and remove the selector lever cable.
