Valve Cover - LH: Installation

NOTE: If the valve cover is not secured within 4 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with metal surface cleaner. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or 4 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.

Install the LH valve cover.
- To install, apply a minimum of 8-mm (0.32-in) diameter drop of sealant to the front cover gasket intersection.

Install the 6 valve cover bolts and 4 studs.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) in the sequence shown.

Install the EVAP purge valve and connect the electrical connector.

Connect the 2 wiring harness retainers to the studs.

Connect the positive crankcase ventilation closure tube to the valve cover.
Position the oil level indicator tube and install the bolt.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Install the LH ignition coils. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION .
