Activating System

  1. Remove the RCM fuse F2.05 from the CJB. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
  2. Remove air bag simulators from side air curtain modules. Connect side air curtain module connectors to vehicle harness.
  3. Remove air bag simulator from clockspring connector at top of steering column. Install driver air bag module. See DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE . Remove air bag simulator from passenger air bag vehicle harness connector. Reconnect passenger air bag module connector.
  4. Remove air bag simulator from driver seat side air bag vehicle harness. Reconnect driver side air bag module connector. Repeat procedure for passenger seat side air bag connector.
    5. WARNING: Be sure that nobody is in the vehicle and that there is nothing blocking or set in front of any air bag module when the battery ground cable is connected.
  5. Turn the ignition switch from off to on. Install the restraints control module fuse F2.05 (10A) to the CJB and install the right kick panel cover. Reconnect negative battery cable. Recheck system operation. Perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Reprogram radio preset frequencies and set clock.
