The cassette player is inoperative/does not operate correctly
  • Audio unit.
 REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized Ford audio system repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation.
The audio unit illumination is inoperative
  • Circuitry.

 REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER & PANEL ILLUMINATION .
The audio unit is inoperative
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse(s):
    • 1 (60A)
    • 6 (60A)
    • 29 (60A)
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
    • 3 (20A).
    • 6 (5A).
    • 28 (5A)
    • 29 (10A)
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
  • Ignition switch.

Poor reception
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse 6 (5A)
