No communication with the module - unable to carry out on-demand self-test on the lighting control module (LCM)
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Fuse.

REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES .
No communication with the module - restraint control module (RCM)
  • Restraint control module (RCM).
  • Fuse
  • Circuitry
REFER to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
The safety belt warning chime does not operate correctly LF safety belt switch.
Lighting control module (LCM).
Circuitry.
REFER to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
The belt minder feature does not operate correctly
  • LF safety belt switch.
  • RF safety belt switch.
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Circuitry.
INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
The key-in-ignition chime does not operate correctly
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Key warning switch.
  • Driver door module (DDM).
  • Driver door ajar switch.
  • Circuitry.
GO to PINPOINT TEST A  .
The door ajar chime does not operate correctly
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Driver door ajar switch.
  • Passenger door ajar switches.
  • Key warning switch.
  • Circuitry.
  • Driver door module (DDM).
GO to PINPOINT TEST B  .
All the chimes/buzzers are inoperative Lighting control module (LCM). INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
The headlamp on reminder chime does not operate correctly
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Door ajar switches.
  • Circuitry.
GO to PINPOINT TEST C  .
The chime sounds when the driver door is ajar (no key in ignition and headlamps OFF)
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Key warning switch.
  • Circuitry.
GO to PINPOINT TEST D  .
A chime does not operate correctly - air bag warning chime
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Circuitry.
  • Restraint control module (RCM).
REFER to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
A chime does not operate correctly - decklid ajar tone
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Circuitry.
GO to PINPOINT TEST E  .
A chime does not operate correctly - message center warning and/or switch depression tones
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Circuitry.
  • Hybrid electronic cluster (HEC).
INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation. If the problem is still present, INSTALL a new HEC. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
A chime does not operate correctly-turn signal warning tone
  • Circuitry.
  • Lighting control module (LCM).
  • Antilock brake (ABS) Module.
GO to PINPOINT TEST F  .
