Starter Motor

WARNING: When performing maintenance on the starting system be aware that the heavy gauge leads are connected directly to the battery. Make sure the protective caps are in place when maintenance is completed.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  3. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
