Instrument Panel: Installation

    NOTE: Installation of the instrument panel into the vehicle requires an assistant.
  1. Install the instrument panel into the vehicle.
  2. Install the lower LH instrument panel cowl side bolt.

  3. Install the upper LH instrument panel cowl side nut.

  4. Install the RH instrument panel cowl side nut.

  5. Install the three instrument panel cowl top screws.

  6. Install the instrument panel defroster opening grille.
  7. Connect the parking brake switch electrical connector.

  8. Connect the LH wiring harness connectors.

  9. Install the LH ground bolts.

  10. Install the eight nuts and the two instrument panel tunnel braces.
  11. Connect the climate control head vacuum harness connector.

  12. Position the tunnel brace trim cover and install the two pin-type retainers.

  13. Install the LH and RH door weatherstrip seals.
  14. Connect the RH bulkhead connector.
    • Tighten the bolt.

  15. Connect the EATC hose to the evaporator housing.

  16. Install the RH ground bolts.

  17. Connect the antenna cable in-line connector.

  18. Install the LH and RH windshield side garnish moldings.

  19. Install the LH and RH A-pillar lower trim panels.
  20. Feed the wiring harness through the dash panel and seat the wiring grommet.

  21. Install the LH and RH instrument panel lower insulators.
  22. Raise the vehicle.
  23. Connect the wiring harness retainer to the dash panel.

  24. Install the RH splash shield. For additional information, see FENDER SPLASH SHIELD - RH .
  25. Clip the LH bulkhead connector into the dash panel.

  26. Connect the LH bulkhead connector.
    • Tighten the bolt.

  27. Position the speed control servo.
    1. Install the nuts.
    2. Connect the electrical connector.

  28. Open the glove compartment door.
  29. Through the glove compartment opening, install the instrument panel support brace bolt.

  30. Install the passenger side air bag module. For additional information, see DUAL-STAGE PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
  31. Install the steering column. For additional information, see STEERING COLUMN .
