Power Steering Pump: Notes

Special Tool(s)

CAUTION: Do not remove the power steering pulley from the power steering pump. The power steering pulley is not removable and damage to the pulley may occur.
  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  2. Remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, Refer to ENGINE-3.0L 4V 3.0L engine or ENGINE-3.9L 3.9L engine.
  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
  4. Remove the LH front frame rail deflector shields.
  5. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following 2 figures.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  7. Fill, purge and leak test the system. For additional information, Refer to POWER STEERING SYSTEM PURGING  and POWER STEERING SYSTEM FILLING .
