Accelerator Pedal and Shaft

    NOTE: Make sure that the adjustable pedals assembly is at the full forward position (pedals positioned toward the front of the vehicle). The accelerator pedal and shaft can be serviced separately from the adjustable pedals assembly. However, the accelerator pedal and shaft itself is serviced only as an assembly.
  1. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration.
  2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Accelerator Cable Removal Note 

  1. Remove the accelerator cable from the rubber plunger.

  2. Position the rubber plunger rearward and remove the cable from the accelerator pedal.

Item 2: Accelerator Pedal Drive Cable Removal Note 

  1. Depress the locking tabs on the pedal drive cable and remove the drive cable from the accelerator cable assembly.
