Oil Pan: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet tube.
  2. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS .
  3. Remove the drive belt.
  4. Remove the fan motor and shroud assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  5. Disconnect the fuel lines.
  6. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube.
  7. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATORS & REGULATORS .
  8. Remove the blower motor speed control. For additional information, refer to CONTROL COMPONENTS .
  9. Raise the vehicle.
  10. Drain the engine oil. Install the drain plug when finished.
  11. Remove the RH engine mount bolt.

  12. Remote the two LH engine mount bolts.

  13. Remove the four nuts and support the exhaust.

  14. Remove the bolt for the transmission line support bracket.

  15. Loosen the nuts for the transmission mount.

  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. NOTE: The RH motor mount has a second bolt accessed from the top.

  18. Remove the bolt.
  19. Using the special tool, raise the engine with a suitable floor crane.

  20. Using the special tool, support the engine.

  21. Raise the vehicle.
  22. Remove the oil pan bolts.

  23. Position the oil pan aside and remove the bolts from the oil pickup tube.

  24. Remove the bolt from the oil pickup tube bracket.

  25. Remove the O-ring and inspect.

  26. Remove the oil pan and gasket from the vehicle through the front.
