1. 4. Install the bolts and tighten in sequence in six steps:
   • Step 1: Tighten to 37-43 Nm (28-31 lb-ft).
   • Step 2: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.
   • Step 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn (360 degrees).
   • Step 4: Tighten to 37-43 Nm (28-31 lb-ft).
   • Step 5: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.
   • Step 6: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.

2. 5. Raise the vehicle.
3. 6. Install the exhaust to the exhaust manifolds.

5. 8. Install the bolt.

6. 9. Install the LH and RH timing chain guides.
   1. Install LH timing chain guide.
   2. Tighten bolts to specified torque.
   3. Install RH timing chain guide.
   4. Tighten bolts to specified torque.
7. 10. Install the timing chain/belts. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS .
8. 11. Install the water bypass tube.

10. 13. Connect the differential pressure feedback sensor electrical connector.

11. 14. Install the ground strap and tighten the nut.

12. 15. Install the heater water hose (18472) and position the clamp.

13. 16. Install the A/C evaporator housing. For additional information, refer to HEATING AND VENTILATION .
14. 17. Install the spark plugs.
15. 18. Install the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
16. 19. Install the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER RH  or VALVE COVER LH .
17. 20. Install the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .
18. 21. Connect the battery ground cable.
