- 4. Install the bolts and tighten in sequence in six steps:
- Step 1: Tighten to 37-43 Nm (28-31 lb-ft).
- Step 2: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.
- Step 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn (360 degrees).
- Step 4: Tighten to 37-43 Nm (28-31 lb-ft).
- Step 5: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.
- Step 6: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.

- 5. Raise the vehicle.
- 6. Install the exhaust to the exhaust manifolds.

- 7. Lower the vehicle.
- 8. Install the bolt.

- 9. Install the LH and RH timing chain guides.
- Install LH timing chain guide.
- Tighten bolts to specified torque.
- Install RH timing chain guide.
- Tighten bolts to specified torque.
- 10. Install the timing chain/belts. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS .
- 11. Install the water bypass tube.

- 12. Install the stud.

- 13. Connect the differential pressure feedback sensor electrical connector.

- 14. Install the ground strap and tighten the nut.

- 15. Install the heater water hose (18472) and position the clamp.

- 17. Install the spark plugs.
- 18. Install the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
- 19. Install the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER RH or VALVE COVER LH .
- 20. Install the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- 21. Connect the battery ground cable.
