Manual Test

  1. Configure Super STAR II Tester to FAST mode and EEC-IV/MCU.
  2. Turn ON and place Super STAR II Tester into HOLD mode.
  3. Connect Super STAR II Tester to the EVO diagnostic connector C292.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
    5. NOTE: While Super STAR II Tester is in TEST mode, the tester will cycle through the Function Test repeatedly.
  5. Place Super STAR II Tester in TEST mode.
  6. Run Function Test 21. Wait for the number 21 to be displayed, then place Super STAR II Tester in HOLD mode for two seconds and then back to TEST mode.
  7. If any diagnostic test codes (DTCs) are reported, record them for later use. Clear the DTCs using Function Test 23.
    8. NOTE: Review the description of the Function Tests for test requirements to avoid misdiagnosis of the systems.
  8. Run each Function Test by placing Super STAR II Tester in HOLD mode for two seconds and then back to TEST mode.
    • Function Test 25, carry out the Actuator Test.
    • Function Test 32, carry out the Steering Wheel Rotation Sensor Test.
    • Function Test 34, carry out the Vehicle Speed Signal Test.
  9. Retrieve, record and clear all DTCs.
