Test At: FOGLIGHTS On Continuously

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn foglights off. If foglights turn off, system is okay at this time. If both foglights remain illuminated, go to next step. If either left or right foglight remains illuminated, repair short to power in appropriate Red/White wire between foglight and foglight relay.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove foglight relay C1007 from Underhood Auxiliary Junction Box (UAJB). UAJB is located at right front corner of engine compartment. Test foglight relay. See FOGLIGHT RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTS. If foglight relay is okay, go to next step. If foglight relay is defective, replace foglight relay.
  3. Disconnect Front Electronic Module (FEM) 12-pin harness connector C201c. FEM is located behind driver's side kick panel. See Figure . Measure resistance of between ground and foglight relay C1007 socket cavity No. 2 (Black/Green wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Green wire foglight relay and FEM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace FEM. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
