Strut And Spring Assembly: Installation

  1. Position the front shock absorber into the shock tower and install the nuts hand-tight.

  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Position the front wheel knuckle onto the front shock absorber and install a new pinch bolt and nut.

  4. If equipped, connect the air suspension height sensor to the front air suspension sensor pin.

  5. CAUTION: Use extreme care not to damage the boot seal. Do not use power tools to tighten the nut, or bearing and seal damage can result. Install the nut using the hex hold feature to prevent the stud from rotating.

  6. Position the stabilizer bar link (5K 484) onto the front shock absorber. Install the retaining nut and the vinyl cover to upper link stud.
  7. If equipped, reconnect the electronic actuator cable connector.

  8. Install the front fender splash shield.
    1. Position the splash shield into the front fender.
    2. Install the mounting bolts.

  9. Install the anti-lock sensor cable and, if equipped, the electronic actuator cable onto the front shock absorber bracket.

  10. Position the front brake hose bracket onto the front shock absorber and install the bolt.

  11. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten lug nuts to specification. See Torque Specifications (2 Of 2) .
  12. Lower the vehicle so vehicle weight is on the tires.
  13. Tighten the front shock absorber to shock tower nuts.

  14. Turn the air suspension service switch on.
