  2. WARNING: Never attempt to disassemble the front spring and shock assembly without first compressing the front coil spring (5310). Failure to do so can cause severe injury.
WARNING: Never remove the large center nut on the front shock absorber (18124) while there is spring pressure on the upper bearing and seat assembly. An unexpected separation of the shock absorber/spring components can occur.

  3. Using the Master Strut Service Set, compress the front coil spring until the bearing seat assembly rotates freely.
  4. CAUTION: It is important that the flange retaining nut be turned while preventing the shock absorber piston rod from turning. Failure to do so will damage the shock absorber.
  5. Remove the shock absorber flange retaining nut.
    1. Position the oxygen sensor wrench onto the flange nut.
    2. Place a six-point deep well 10 mm socket onto the shock absorber piston rod.
    3. Remove the flange nut while holding the shock absorber piston rod from turning.
  6. Loosen and remove the spring compressor.
