Strut And Spring Assembly: Assembly

CAUTION: Make sure that the correct assembly sequence and proper positioning of the bearing and seat assembly are followed.
  1. Pre-assemble the bearing and seat assembly onto the mounting bracket, making sure that the mounting bracket is fully seated into the bearing's inner race.
  2. Inspect the lower front spring insulator for damage prior to assembly.
  3. Assemble the front shock absorber
    1. Install the front lower spring insulator.
    2. Install the front shock absorber jounce bumper.

  10. Position the upper flat washer, and hand start the flange nut.
  11. CAUTION: It is important that the flange retaining nut be turned while preventing the shock absorber piston rod from turning. Failure to do so will damage the shock absorber.
  12. Tighten the flange nut.
    1. Position the Oxygen Sensor Wrench onto the flange nut.
    2. Place a six-point deep well 10 mm socket onto the shock absorber piston rod.
    3. Tighten the flange nut while holding the shock absorber piston rod from turning.
