Compass Calibration

    NOTE: For optimum calibration, drive to an open, level location away from large metallic objects or structures. Switch off all non-essential electrical accessories (rear window defrost, heater, A/C, map lamps, wipers, etc.) and make sure all the doors are shut.

  1. Start the vehicle and locate the compass module mounted on the base of the mirror.
  2. NOTE: To exit the calibration mode before carrying out a compass adjustment, turn the ignition switch of the OFF position.
  3. Press the button located on the compass sensor module gently for between four and eight seconds until CIRCLE SLOWLY and a direction are displayed on the message center and release the button.
  4. NOTE: If the CIRCLE SLOWLY indicator does not turn off after the vehicle has been driven in a circle five times, demagnetize the vehicle and repeat the procedure.
  5. Release the button and drive slowly in a circle at no more than 5 km/h (3 mph) until CIRCLE SLOWLY no longer appears on the display.
