Upper Intake Manifold: Installation

    NOTE: The upper intake manifold gaskets are reusable. Inspect the gaskets for damage and install new gaskets if necessary.
    NOTE: Use new upper intake manifold bolts.

  1. Install the gaskets, the upper intake manifold, and the bolts. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
    • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
  2. Connect the VMV vacuum hose.

  3. Install the EGR adapter.
    • Install a new gasket.
    • Position the EGR valve adapter.
    • Install the bolts.

  4. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.

  5. Connect the vacuum hose.

  6. Connect the brake booster vacuum hose.

  7. Position the oil fill tube and install the stud.

  8. Position the power steering reservoir bracket and install the bolts.

  9. Install the nut.

  10. Connect the two hoses and the electrical connector to the differential pressure feedback EGR.

  11. Connect the vacuum hoses and the electrical connector to the EGR vacuum regulator.

  12. Connect the IAC valve electrical connector.

  13. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.

  14. Install the balance tube gaskets and the balance tube.

  15. Install the wiring harness shield, the bolts, and the five clips.

  16. Install the cowl grille.
  17. Connect the intake manifold tuning valve electrical connector.

  18. Install the tube assembly and connect the PCV valve tube.

  19. Remove the plugs and connect the PCV fitting heater coolant hoses.

  20. Connect the EVAP return hose.

  21. Position the cables and bracket and install the bolts.

  22. Connect the accelerator cable, speed control cable, and the return spring.

  23. Install the engine appearance cover and the three bolts.

  24. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  25. Connect the battery negative cable.
  26. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
