Test C: No Communication With Driver's Door Module

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) 12-pin harness connector C501a. DDM is located behind driver's door panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and DDM harness connector C501a terminals No. 11 (Orange wire) and No. 12 (Orange/Blue wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is 10 volts or more at both terminals, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts at either terminal, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and DDM harness connector C501a terminals No. 7 (Brown/Blue wire) and No. 8 (Black/Orange wire). If both resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article. If any resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate wire between DDM and ground. See GROUND DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
