Test E: Abs Sensor Input Signal Missing

NOTE: This test is associated with DTC C1296 (LF), C1297 (LF), C1298 (RR) and C1299 (LR).
  1. Carefully inspect ABS sensor head for proper and tight mounting. Check wiring and contacts. If suspect ABS sensor is okay, go to next step. If sensor is not okay, repair or replace ABS sensor or components. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
  2. Visually inspect indicator ring. Spin wheel and look for any out-of-round condition. Check for proper air gap between ABS sensor and indicator ring. If all above are okay, go to next step. If not, repair or replace item(s) as needed. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector from ABCM. Connect breakout box. While spinning suspect wheel at one revolution per second, measure AC voltage between respective breakout box pins, as shown in chart. See ABS SENSOR CIRCUIT TEST CHART (INPUT SIGNAL MISSING)  table. If voltage is 100-3500 mVolts, install new ABCM. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If voltage is not 100-3500 mVolts, install new ABS sensor. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
