Testing Procedure
When trouble shooting ABS system, use test procedures in order in that they are presented. Using other than recommended procedure could result in wasted time and/or unnecessary replacement of parts.
It is always good practice to use following order of testing to minimize wasted time and incorrect parts replacement:
- ABS QUICK CHECK. See Fig 1.
- INSPECTION & VERIFICATION
- DIAGNOSTIC TESTS using DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
If symptoms are present but codes cannot be retrieved, perform ABS symptom tests. See Figure.
