Test M: Off Switch Is Inoperative

  1. Using NGS tester, monitor speed control servo PID SC_OFF while pressing and releasing speed control OFF switch and rotating steering wheel. If NGS tester does not indicate ACTIVE with speed control OFF switch pressed and NOTACT with speed control OFF switch released, go to next step. If NGS tester indicates ACTIVE with speed control OFF switch pressed and NOTACT with speed control OFF switch released, system is operating properly.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect speed control servo harness connector C123 (located in left rear of engine compartment). Measure resistance between terminals No. 5 (Light Blue/Black wire) and No. 6 (Dark Green/Orange wire) at speed control servo harness connector C123 while pressing speed control OFF switch and rotating steering wheel. See Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms with OFF switch pressed and greater than 10 k/ohms with OFF switch not pressed. If resistance is as specified, replace speed control servo. If resistance is not as specified, replace speed control switch.
