Section 22 (Supplemental Inflatable Restraint System): Adjustments: CLOCKSPRING

  1. Ensure negative battery cable is disconnected. Remove bolt retaining steering column lower yoke to lower steering intermediate shaft coupling. Push steering column shaft coupling down out of steering column lower yoke.
  2. Rotate ring in clockspring counterclockwise until tight, then rotate clockspring ring clockwise 2 1/2 turns. Align Yellow arrows on clockspring and ring. Reattach steering column components.
