Headlight Bulb: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Navigator and 2002 Ford Expedition. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Bulb may shatter if glass envelope is scratched or if bulb is dropped. Handle bulb carefully. Grasp bulb by base only and avoid touching glass envelope.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected or modules are replaced, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE:
Headlight bulb should not be removed from headlight until just before replacement bulb is installed. Removing bulb from headlight assembly for extended periods of time may effect performance of new bulb. Contaminants may enter headlight where they may settle on lens or reflector. Never turn on headlights with bulb removed from headlight.
