Description & Operation

Power mirror system consists of outside foldaway mirror heads with integral reversible servomotor assemblies, interior rear view mirror and a mirror control switch located on driver door trim panel. Some models are equipped with an electronic dimming interior rear view mirror and heating element and/or turn signal indicators in outside mirror glass. Outside mirrors are controlled by Driver's Seat Module (DSM) and are operational at all times. Outside rear view mirrors can be adjusted 4 ways: up, down, left and right. Optional power folding mirrors are controlled by a switch which must be held in extend/retract until fully extended or retracted.

The optional inside electronic dimming rear view mirror is controlled by 2 light-sensitive photocells. Outside light level is measured by a sensor on backside of mirror housing. A second sensor, located on reflective side of mirror, detects approaching rear lights and darkens mirror. The mirror switches to normal state (clear) whenever transmission gear selector is placed in Reverse. Heated outside mirrors always operate when rear window defogger is in operation.

Up to 3 outside mirror and seat positions can be set to driver's preference and recalled using memory switch buttons or remote transmitter. See PROGRAMMING  .
