Test B: No Communication With Electronic Variable Orifice Control Module
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EVO control module connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between EVO control module connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1. If voltage is not present, go to next step. If voltage is present, repair Black wire. Install NEW EVO control module. Repeat self-test.

- Measure resistance between EVO control module connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire) and ground at harness side. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire, and repeat self-test.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between EVO control module connector terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/Pink wire) and ground at harness side. See Fig 1. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Light Blue/Pink wire, and repeat self-test.
- Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 2 (Orange/Black wire) and EVO control module connector terminal No. 4 (Orange/Black). Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 2 and ground. Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and control module, and greater than 10,000 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and ground, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, repair Orange/Black wire and repeat self-test.

- Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 4 (Orange/Light Blue wire) and EVO control module connector terminal No. 3 (Orange/Light Blue wire) at harness side. Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 4 (Orange/Black wire) and ground at harness side. See Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and EVO control module connector and greater than 10,000 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and ground, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, repair Orange/Black wire. Repeat self-test.
- Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green wire) and EVO control module connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire) at harness side. See Fig 2. Measure resistance between EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 4 (Light Green wire) and ground at harness side. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and EVO control module connector and greater than 10,000 ohms between EVO diagnostic connector and ground, install new EVO control module. If resistance is not within specification, repair Light Green wire. Repeat self-test.
