Generic Electronic Module: Notes

CAUTION: If replacing the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the New Generation Star (NGS) or Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester. After installation, this information must be downloaded into the new GEM module.

CAUTION: Disconnect the battery before disconnecting GEM harness connectors. Failure to do so will result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after reconnecting.
