Test 5: Traction Control Is Inoperative

  1. Connect scan tool. Retrieve and record continuous DTCs. If any DTCs are retrieved, see STABILITY ASSIST MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If DTCs are not retrieved, go to next step.
  2. Test drive vehicle. Perform several anti-lock stops. If ABS operates properly, go to next step. If ABS does not operate properly, see SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABCM connector (C155). Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ABCM connector terminal No. 9 (White/Violet wire) and ground. If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, replace ABCM.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TCS switch connector (C308). Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ABCM connector terminal No. 9 (White/Violet wire) and ground. If voltage is present, repair White/Violet wire. If voltage is not present, replace TCS switch.
