Test R: No Communication With Front Electronic Module (Fem)
NOTE:
Cycle ignition from OFF to RUN to enable the switched system power feature.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect FEM harness connectors C201C (12-pin) and C201F (20-pin). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and FEM connector C201C terminal No. 6 (Orange/Green wire). See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and FEM connector C201F terminal No. 1 (Orange/Yellow wire). See Figure . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, repair open in appropriate wire(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect FEM 17-pin connector C201A. Measure resistance between ground and FEM harness connectors as specified. See FEM CIRCUIT RESISTANCE TEST
table. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, see
MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article to diagnose network fault. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire(s) between FEM and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Recheck system operation.FEM CIRCUIT RESISTANCE TEST
