Description & Operation

WARNING: See Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . The air bag system is powered directly from the battery, through a fused circuit, and a backup power supply which is combined with the diagnostic monitor. To prevent accidental air bag deployment, air bag system must be disabled before servicing any steering column component. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .

Lincoln LS is equipped with a power tilt/telescopic steering column. The power tilt/telescopic steering columns are equipped with an electric tilt and telescoping mechanisms that allow column length and steering wheel angle to be adjusted.
