Test K: Set/ACCEL Switch Is Inoperative

  1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using NGS tester, access speed control servo PID SET_ACL. Press and release SET/ACCEL switch while monitoring PID SET_ACL on NGS tester and slightly turn steering wheel side to side. NGS tester should display ACTIVE when switch is pressed and NOTACTIVE when switch is released. If PID SET_ACL does not agree with switch position, go to next step. If PID SET_ACL agrees with switch position, system is okay at this time.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed control servo harness connector C152. Measure resistance between speed control servo connector C152 terminals No. 5 (Light Blue/Black wire) and No. 6 (Black wire). Press speed control SET/ACCEL switch and slightly turn steering wheel side to side. Resistance should be 612-748 ohms when switch is pressed and greater than 10 k/ohms when switch is released. If resistance is as specified, replace speed control servo. If resistance is not as specified, replace speed control switch. Retest system operation.
