Test H
- With ignition on, engine off, measure voltage drop by connecting voltmeter positive probe to generator 3-pin connector terminal "A" (Yellow/White wire) and negative voltmeter probe to battery positive terminal. If voltage is less than .5 volt, go to next step. If voltage is .5 volts or greater, repair Yellow/White wire and check system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Start engine. Turn off all accessories. Measure battery voltage while increasing engine speed. If battery voltage increases to greater than 15 volts, replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check system operation. If battery voltage is 15 volts or less, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Measure voltage between generator test point "F" and ground. See Figure. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check system operation.
- Run engine at 2000 RPM. Measure battery voltage and observe charge warning indicator. If battery voltage increases to greater than 15.5 volts or indicator flickers, repair Yellow/White wire or Light Green/Red wire as necessary and check system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is 15.5 volts or less and indicator does not flicker, replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check system operation.
