Test F: Driver Seat Module (DSM) Does Not Respond To NGS Tester
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Driver Seat Module (DSM) 22-pin connector located under driver's seat. Disconnect NGS tester. Inspect DSM connector and Data Link Connector (DLC) for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 22 at DSM connector and terminal No. 7 at DLC. See Figure and Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to step 4).
- Reconnect DSM module connector and NGS tester. Perform data link diagnostic procedure. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS. If DSM module responds to NGS tester, system is functioning properly. If 4WAS module does not respond to NGS tester, replace DSM module and retest system for normal operation.
- Disconnect and inspect both halves of in-line 66-pin connector C207 located behind left side of instrument panel. See Fig 2. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 22 at DSM module connector and terminal No. 7 at in-line 66-pin connector C207 (female half). See Fig 1 and Fig 3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between male half of in-line connector and DLC. Retest system for normal operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between DSM module connector and female half of in-line connector. Retest system for normal operation.
