DTC B1529: Memory Set Switch Circuit Short To Battery
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. See Figure-8.
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to data link connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set NGS tester to read Driver's Door Module (DDM) PID MEM_OFF. If PID MEM_OFF does not read ACTIVE, go to step 4). If PID MEM_OFF reads ACTIVE, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) harness connector C456. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 18 (Brown/Orange wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace DDM and retest.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect memory switch harness connector C515. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 18 (Brown/Orange wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Brown/Orange wire. If battery voltage does not exist, replace memory switch and retest.
- Set NGS tester to read DDM PID MEM1_SW. If PID MEM1_SW reads ON, go to next step. If PID MEM1_SW does not read ON, go to step 7).
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM harness connector C456. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 19 (Brown/Light Green wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace DDM and retest.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect memory switch harness connector C515. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 19 (Brown/Light Green wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Brown/Light Green wire. If battery voltage does not exist, replace memory switch and retest.
- Set NGS tester to read DDM PID MEM2_SW. If PID MEM2_SW reads ON, go to next step. If PID MEM2_SW does not read ON, go to step 10).
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect DDM connector C456. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 7 (Black/Orange wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace DDM and retest.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect memory switch harness connector C515. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 7 (Black/Orange wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If battery voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Black/Orange wire. If battery voltage does not exist, replace memory switch and retest.
- Set NGS tester to read DDM PID MEM_OFF, DDM PID MEM1_SW and DDM PID MEM2_SW. Press each button on memory switch while monitoring PIDs. If each PID changes while corresponding button is pressed, and returns to normal when button is released, replace DDM and retest. If PIDs do not change while corresponding button is pressed, and returns to normal when button is released, replace memory switch and retest.
