Ignition Key Initialization Sequence

NOTE: Procedure must be performed if replacing SCIL module. SCIL module requires 2 keys to be programmed before it will allow vehicle to be started. Technician must inform customer to reprogram any additional keys. If anti-theft indicator flashes in place of 3 second proveout, retry procedure. Keys were not programmed.
  1. Insert first key into ignition and turn switch to RUN or START position. Anti-theft indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds, go out for one second, and illuminate again for one minute (this indicates first key was programmed successfully).
  2. Insert second key into ignition and turn switch to RUN or START position. Anti-theft indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds then go out (this indicates first key was programmed successfully). Start vehicle.
