Ignition Key Initialization Sequence
NOTE:
Procedure must be performed if replacing SCIL module. SCIL module requires 2 keys to be programmed before it will allow vehicle to be started. Technician must inform customer to reprogram any additional keys. If anti-theft indicator flashes in place of 3 second proveout, retry procedure. Keys were not programmed.
- Insert first key into ignition and turn switch to RUN or START position. Anti-theft indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds, go out for one second, and illuminate again for one minute (this indicates first key was programmed successfully).
- Insert second key into ignition and turn switch to RUN or START position. Anti-theft indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds then go out (this indicates first key was programmed successfully). Start vehicle.
