DTC C1145: Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure
NOTE:
Wheel speed sensor may also be referred to as brake sensor.
- Check Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor
Disconnect right front wheel speed sensor. Measure resistance between speed sensor terminals. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, replace right front wheel speed sensor and retest system. - Check For Shorted Sensor
Measure resistance between speed sensor terminal No. 1 and ground. See Fig 1 . If reading is infinite, go to next step. If reading is not infinite, replace right front wheel speed sensor and retest system. - Check Wheel Speed Sensor Circuitry
Reconnect right front wheel speed sensor connector. Disconnect ABS control module connector. Connect Breakout Box (014-00322) and ABS Adapter (T90P-50-ALA). Measure resistance between breakout box test terminals No. 3 and 18. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, go to step 7). - Check Yellow/Red Wire For Short To Ground
Measure resistance between breakout box test terminals No. 3 and 8. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to step 6). - Check Yellow/Black Wire For Short To Ground
Disconnect right front wheel speed sensor connector. Measure resistance between breakout box test terminals No. 3 and 8. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire. - Check For DTC(s)
Ensure all connectors are properly connected. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester (007-00500), clear DTC(s). Turn ignition off, then turn ignition on. Perform ABS self-test. See ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST under DIAGNOSIS. Retrieve all stored DTC(s). If DTC C1145 is retrieved, replace ABS control module. If DTC C1145 is not retrieved, check all connections for corrosion, bent terminals or loose connections. Correct any condition which may cause intermittent failure. After repair, retest system. - Check Yellow/Red Wire For Short To Battery
Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 3 and 8. If any voltage is indicated, go to next step. If no voltage is indicated, go to step 9). - Check Yellow/Black Wire For Short To Battery
Disconnect right front wheel speed sensor. Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 3 and 8. If any voltage is indicated, repair short to battery power in Yellow/Red wire. If no voltage is indicated, repair short to battery power in Yellow/Black wire. After repair, retest system. - Check Yellow/Red Wire For Open
Measure resistance between breakout box terminal No. 3 and Yellow/Red wire terminal of right front wheel speed sensor connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Red wire and retest system. - Check Yellow/Black Wire For Open
Measure resistance between breakout box terminal No. 18 and Yellow/Black wire terminal of right front wheel speed sensor connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and Yellow/Black wire in right front wheel speed sensor circuit. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Black wire. After repair, retest system.
