Brake Booster Assembly: Removal

  1. With ignition off, pump brake pedal until all vacuum is removed from booster. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect electrical connectors from master cylinder and booster.
  2. Remove speed (cruise) control actuator cable and speed control servo, if necessary. Disconnect manifold vacuum hose from check valve. Disconnect brake fluid lines from master cylinder. Plug all line openings. Remove master cylinder.
  3. Remove retaining clip from Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Position PCM aside. Disconnect stoplight switch connector. Remove retainer from booster push rod and stoplight switch. Remove booster retaining nuts. Pull booster forward to remove.
