Test F: Both Outside Mirrors Inoperative
- Turn ignition on. Perform DSM Self Test. If DTC U1180 or U1194 is retrieved, see the SEATS - POWER article. If DTCs listed do not appear, go to next step.
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Set NGS tester to read Driver Door Module PID MIR_SEL. Move mirror control switch to R (right) position. Use mirror control switch to tilt mirror down. If the PID MIR_SEL reads PASSENGER, go to step 8). If the PID MIR_SEL does not read PASSENGER, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect mirror control switch connector C500. Check voltage at connector C500 terminal No. 7 (Dark Green/Purple wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair wire and retest.
- Check continuity between connector C500 terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair wire and retest.
- Disconnect DDM connector C546. Check continuity between connector C500 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair wire short to ground. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
- Check continuity between DDM connector C456 terminal No. 10 (Yellow/Black wire) and mirror control switch connector C500 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair wire and retest.
- Reconnect mirror control switch connector C500. Move switch to R (right) position. Check voltage at DDM connector C456 terminal No. 10 (Yellow/Black wire) while using mirror control switch to tilt mirror down. If battery voltage exists, replace DDM and retest. If battery voltage does not exist, replace mirror control switch and retest.
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Set NGS tester to DSM ACTIVE COMMAND-POWER MIRROR CONTROL. Select DR UP. Trigger DR UP On. If mirror does not move up, replace DSM and retest. If mirror moves up, system is okay. Check mirror operation in other directions. See SYSTEM TEST INDEX for inoperative motions testing.
