Test E: No Communication With DSM
- Disconnect DSM connector C362. Check voltage at terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 7). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Remove and check Fuse 19 (30 Amp) located in Power Distribution Box. If fuse is okay, repair wire and retest. If fuse is bad, go to next step.
- Check continuity between DSM connector C362 terminal No. 1 (Red wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to step 5).
- Disconnect Power Lumbar Switch connector C345. Check continuity between DSM connector C362 terminal 1 (Red wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair wire short to ground and retest. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, replace Power Lumbar Switch and retest.
- Disconnect Power Lumbar Switch connector C345. Check continuity between Power Lumbar Switch connector C345 terminal 5 (Red/White wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair wire and retest. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
- Check continuity between Power Lumbar Switch connector C345 terminal 1 (Red/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair wire and retest. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, replace DSM and retest.
- Disconnect DSM connector C311. Check voltage at connector C311 terminal No. 14 (Light Blue wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 11). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Remove and check Fuse 35 (10 Amp) in Fuse Panel. If fuse is bad, go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open Light Blue/White wire and retest.
- Check voltage at Fuse Panel connector for Fuse 35. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair power to Fuse Panel and retest.
- Check continuity between connector C311 terminal No. 4 (Light Blue/White wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair wire short to ground and retest. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, replace DSM and retest.
- Check continuity between DSM connector C362 terminal No. 2 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire and retest.
- Check continuity between connector C311 terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, see the MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black/Light Blue wire and retest.
