Test F: Steering Wheel Rotation Not Detected

NOTE: This test is associated with DTC 33.
  1. Check Circuit -  Turn ignition switch to OFF position. On models without air suspension, disconnect EVO control module 14-pin connector C214. On models with air suspension, disconnect Black EVO control module 13-pin connector C215 and Gray EVO control module 13-pin connector C216. On all models, disconnect steering wheel rotation sensor connector (located at bottom of steering column). On models without air suspension, measure resistance of Red wire, Yellow/Black wire and Brown wires between EVO control module connector C214 and steering wheel rotation sensor harness connector. See Figure. On models with air suspension, measure resistance of Red wire, Yellow/Black wire and Brown wires between Gray EVO control module connector C216 and steering wheel rotation sensor harness connector. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in appropriate circuit(s). Reconnect all components and repeat steering wheel sensor test.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and Purple/Orange wire of steering wheel rotation sensor. If battery voltage is present, replace sensor. If battery voltage is not present, repair Pink/Orange wire between sensor and instrument panel fuse No. 5 (15-amp). Reconnect all components and repeat steering wheel sensor test.
