Pinpoint Test A - No Module Communication
- Turn ignition off. Remove 15-amp fuse No. 15 and 5-amp fuse No. 9 from fuse junction panel. Test fuses. If fuses are good, go to step 3). If fuses are bad, replace fuses and retest system. If fuses blow again, go to next step.
- Disconnect Lighting Control Module connectors. Measure resistance between connector C3, terminal No. 6 (Tan/White wire) and ground. Repeat procedure between connector C1, terminal No. 9 (Gray/Yellow wire) and ground. If resistance on both circuits is more than 10 k/ohms, replace Lighting Control Module and retest system. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in circuit No. 195 (Tan/White wire) and/or circuit No. 1003 (Gray/Yellow wire) and retest system.
- Install fuses. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Lighting Control Module connector C3, terminal No. 6 (Tan/White wire) and at connector C1, terminal No. 9 (Gray/Yellow wire). If battery voltage is present at both terminals, go to step 5). If battery voltage is not present at one or both terminals, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove 15-amp fuse No. 15 and 5-amp fuse no. 9 from fuse junction panel. Measure resistance between Lighting Control Module connector C3, terminal No. 6 (Tan/White wire) and output cavity of fuse No. 15. Measure resistance between Lighting Control Module connector C1, terminal No. 9 (Gray Yellow) and output cavity of fuse No. 9. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit No. 195 (Tan/White wire) and/or circuit No. 1003 (Gray/Yellow wire) and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between Lighting Control Module connector C3, terminal No. 9 (Pink/Orange wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Module Communications Network link circuit. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit No. 676 (Pink/Orange wire) and retest system.
