Test F - Speedometer Inaccurate

  1. Perform ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. See appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. If vehicle passes, go to next step. If vehicle does not pass, repair data link circuit. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
  2. Test-drive vehicle. If speedometer is accurate, go to next step. If speedometer is not accurate, go to step 4).
  3. Test-drive vehicle. If odometer is accurate, no problem is indicated at this time. If odometer is not accurate, temporarily substitute known good EIC, then retest system.
  4. Test-drive vehicle. Compare speed indicated on speedometer with speed indicated on NGS tester. If speed indications agree, see ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM article in the BRAKES section for vehicle speed signal concern. If speed indications do not agree, temporarily substitute known good EIC, then retest system.
