Pinpoint Test JF
- If warning is always on when fluid level is high, go to next step. If warning never comes on when fluid level is low, go to step 5).
- Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from fluid sensor. Turn ignition on. If warning appears, go to next step. Service fluid sensor if warning does not appear.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from reservoir fluid level sensor. Turn ignition on. If warning still appears, go to next step. Repair short to ground on Pink/Yellow wire) in harness if warning does not appear.
- Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. See, under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I . Check for continuity between 12-pin EIC harness connector pins No. 10 (Pink/Yellow wire) and No. 4 (Pink/Orange wire). If continuity exists, repair short on Pink/Yellow wire. Replace message center module if continuity does not exist.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from sensor. Connect jumper wire between harness connector terminals. Turn ignition on. Go to next step if warning does not appear. Service windshield washer fluid level sensor if warning appears.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug 16-pin connector located near left headlight. Connect jumper wire between Pink/Yellow wire of harness connector (EIC side) and ground. Turn ignition on. If warning does not appear, leave jumper connected and go to next step. Repair open in Pink/Yellow wire between connector and fluid level switch if warning appears.
- Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. Check for continuity between 12-pin EIC harness connector pins No. 10 (Pink/Yellow wire) and pin No. 4 (Pink/Orange wire). If continuity exists, replace EIC. Repair open in Pink/Yellow wire if continuity does not exist.
