Pinpoint Test JE

  1. Park vehicle on level surface. Ensure engine oil level is at FULL mark on dipstick. Turn ignition off. Wait 2 minutes. Turn ignition on. Check messages for LOW OIL LEVEL warning. If warning is displayed, go to next step. If warning is not displayed, system is operating normally.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor. Wait 2 minutes. Turn ignition on. Check messages for LOW OIL LEVEL warning. If warning is displayed, go to next step. If warning is not displayed, replace oil level sensor.
  3. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor. Check for continuity between EIC 16-pin connector pin No. 21 (White/Pink wire) and EIC 12-pin connector pin No. 4 (Pink/Orange wire). If continuity does not exist, replace EIC. If continuity exists, repair short on White/Pink wire.
