Pinpoint Test HB

  1. Drive vehicle to verify problem. Average may take several minutes to change. Check speedometer operation. Go to PINPOINT TEST AN if speedometer does not operate properly. Go to next step if speedometer operates properly.
  2. Turn ignition on. Check for CHECK ENGINE or CHECK DCL warning. If warnings are not present, replace EIC. If CHECK ENGINE or CHECK DCL warning appears, see TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (3.8L) article under ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
